Tallman House Guard Force
The contingent of Tallmans Guards responsible for guarding the house and its inhabitants is quartered inside the house itself. The contingent is a company of 31 guards, and the rank and unit structure is different than that of Cormyr's Purple Dragons. The company is led by a Swordcaptain, an officer who is essentially the Captain of the Guard. Under him are two lesser officers holding the rank of First Sword, each of them commanding two seven-man squads. Each squad is composed six enlisted blades under the command of an NCO given the rank of Undersword. Each day is divided into four 6-hour guard shifts. During any one shift one squad is assigned to stand guard at the marked locations on the map, another squad patrols the inside and immediate exterior of the house, and the other two squads are "at ease" to sleep, eat, practice, or take care of personal business but are expected to be "on call" at all times should trouble arise. In addition, one of the three officers - the swordcaptain and the two first swords - is on duty at any time of day and night and is the "officer of the watch."
